did someone say india?

So Mumford & Sons have released a new EP of sorts, a collaboration with Laura Marling and what I can only assume are an Indian Band (?) Dharohar Project. I read about it a while ago, that Mumford & Sons had been spending a lot of time in India, and had found it really moving, so were going to try and incorporate some of the culture into their music, and it looks like they gave birth to this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3XpmCQsN0E
Okay so at first I took a listen and thought I'd somehow found myself in an Asian wedding, it sounded really, really rubbish, but then when you start to listen to it, and I mean really listen it sort of, gets you. You start to hear the mix of folk, sitars and languages and it's something really different. Mumford & Sons have been brave to do this, and have really embraced music for what it is, not for what they think will sell-and after a few listens you can tell that their little gamble was worth it even if it's not going to be to everyone's taste. Exciting seems to be the only way to describe the EP, give it a listen and see what you think. It looks like Mumford & Sons are going to be doing a lot more of this, embracing other cultures etc, so if this EP isn't to your taste, watch this space!
