I've had a little play around with my blogs and taken all the posts and put them into one blog, because apparently that's what you're supposed to do, who knew.
A few weeks ago (sorry this is late)I went to see Florence+ The Machine headline the Wolverhampton Civic, it was a sold out show and with good cause. She recieved support from Brooklyn's own, The Drums, who I absolutely love, (they're on the cover of this weeks NME if you read it, the article on them is fantastic). They played a six or seven song set, which started with their last single 'Best Friend' and ended with recently relesed 'Forever and ever, amen.' They're definitely a peformance band, and you can tell they absolutely love being on the stage. Their set was almost better than Florence's, there was so much to watch. The guitarist abandonned his guitar to throw a tamborine around the stage, the lead moonwalked, their shadows danced around on the venues walls and some of their facial expressions were brilliant haha. They're without a doubt the best support band i've ever seen. If you haven't heard of them, check them out, they're destined for great things.
Okay so then Florence came on stage looking as lovely as she always does, she started with 'Cosmic Love' I think, which would make sense seeing as it was the Cosmic Love Tour. She had a black drop filled with loads of little lights like stars, it looked really really good aha. I wondered how she was able to dance as much as she had, and still be able to deliver the strength of her pitch perfect voice through her songs, but she made a bit of a mistake in one of the songs, you couldn't hear it and the song carried on going, lip syncing Florence? Looked like it. You can't blame her though if she was, she has a lot to live up to. She had a string section this time around as well, and you could tell how excited she was so have them there, it was a really good gig and I'd reccomend anybody to go and see her next time she tours, or catch her at one of the many festivals she's playing this summer :) see yaaaaaa
