Hot Mess, A Mess Anyway

Having been a Cobra Starship fan for a number of years, and eagerly aniticipating the release of new material since being completely taken in by their gig in Birmingham back in May, it's an understatement to say that I was dissapointed. Cobra Starship recently released their new album, 'hot mess' to fans, both new and old. The album promised so much and seems to have delivered so little, what has happened to Cobra Starship in the two years+ since the release of '¡Viva La Cobra!'? The 13 track album begins with 'nice guys finish last' which sets the tone of the album, it is very Britney, and seems to be an overall mass pleaser. Where did the, 'don't take any shit, be different!' attitude go? It seems that the British and American chart success they recieved with 'Good Girls Go Bad' has sent them looking for bigger payouts. Their amusing song titles still seem to be there, though. However it doesn't look like I'll be going to see them again, if this album is anything to go by.
