Marina Diamandis (Marina And The Diamonds) released her new album 'The Family Jewels' on Monday (22nd February). Obviously the album was a huge success, probably due to how popular 'Hollywood' was. The album is pure pop, but I can't help but adore it. It starts off with soon to be released 'Are You Satisfied?' which pretty much tells you everything you need to know about her, she's got a bloody deep voice and doesn't really give a damn about what other people think, 'it's my problem if I have no friends and feel I want to die' true say, Marina. My favourite track on the album is 'The Outsider' which has to have my favourite line from the whole album, her screaming 'I'm a fucking wildcard!' Recently released 'Obsessions' is also on there too, which keeps the pop element, but seems to be a little deeper than songs about frogs and The Jungle Book.
I know that I always refer to NME's ratings but they've given this 9/10 which seems perfect. I've had the album pretty much on repeat since Tuesday and it's only just beginning to wear on me a little, I think it's about time to put it away before I kill it!
